When it comes to entrepreneur there are many character qualities that come to mind about that type of person. Innovator, risk taker, passionate, etc. These are all great qualities to have and none more important than the other. When I think of qualities an entrepreneur needs to have 2 come to mind. Again these 2 qualities or not more important than any other but they are 2 that I find that you must have in order to succeed in owning a business. This applies to all entrepreneurs doesn’t matter if you own a lawn business or a million-dollar company.

The first quality that I find to be very important is extreme focus. You have to be focused on what you want out of your business.  You can’t mess around and dilly dally and think something is going to happen. You are not entitled to success just because you started a business.  Just starting a business is not enough. You need to put in the work, time, blood, sweat, and tears to be successful. Think about this for a second if you opened a coffee shop, but didn’t open the store on time, didn’t market properly, always ran out of stock would you have a coffee shop for long? The answer is definitely  no; you would be out of business very fast. The same goes for online entrepreneurs while we may not invest as much money in equipment, store front, inventory, etc. we need to invest that into ourselves and keep growing as individuals because at the end of the day we are our business. That is why it is very important to be focused on your goals, your business and everything in between.

The second quality of entrepreneurs that I find to be very important is thick skin. You need to be able to bounce back fast from things. Your family and friends may not understand what you are trying to do and think that you are just wasting your time. Don’t let them get under your skin it will wear you down. You need to have thick skin to be able to deal with tough times like when you aren’t making any money at first and doesn’t look to be an end in sight. When you try and recruit people or gain a client and it doesn’t work out. All these things can be a blow to your motivation, but you can’t let that stuff get to you. You need to stay motivated and persistent in your work. When you do sign someone up and you start to make money and all your hard work is paying off you will be glad that you pushed through the tough times and you will be a better and smarter business owner because of it.

So that’s is ladies and gents. Those are the top two that I think of when I think of entrepreneurs. Sound off in the comments and let me know what qualities you think of when it comes to entrepreneurs.
