I give a lot of valuable information on this site but, I never really talk about what made me start my online business journey. First, as you may already know, I am a father of 4 and I was working 60 plus hours a week for years. I missed everything my kids first steps, plays, field trips etc. I decided about 2 years ago that was going to change. I started learning what I could about online business through blogs and YouTube etc.
I learned as much as possible and decided I would start with affiliate marketing. So I started a blog about technology and made videos and signed up for a bunch of affiliate programs to promote on my blog and videos. I was pumped and ready to go. I saw all these other tech bloggers and Youtubers getting free stuff to review, having giveaways, making a bunch of money, and going to all these different events.
Online Business Journey
So I got my blog and YouTube channel set up. Started making videos and writing very informative posts. I thought this is it, this is all I have to do. I did this all while still working my 9-5. Much to
After a few months, I was ready to give up and never try this “online business” thing again. It must be a scam I did what I was told and didn’t make anything. I decided that I wouldn’t give up though as I wanted to be with my family and not have to miss their entire lives.
It wasn’t until I stopped trying to copy other people and just focusing on the money that it all started to click. Want to know why those other bloggers and Youtubers were successful? Because they were themselves and they focused on creating content and not the money. They focused on providing value and in return, the money started coming in for them.
So I started to take another look at my approach. I started to focus on the value, the content, what I was providing to the community. When that mindset changed I started seeing results. In a nutshell, it’s called “attraction Marketing”. I started learning things that I wanted to know about and sharing that info with my tribe and things started changing.
I then started recruiting as well as affiliate marketing and blogging. The same principle applies here. Create value, share it with your niche and people will come to you. You don’t need to chase down people every day they will literally start coming to you!
I am happy to say that I have not had a 9-5 job for about 6 months now and have been able to work 100% from home and able to be with my kids every day. It was a journey, took a lot of learning, trial, and error, and most of all it took failing to learn from my mistakes and how to improve the next go around.
Don’t ever give up because you will never know how close you were to success if you quit when things get hard. Stay focused, give value, focus on the content and work, and things will change.
I would love to hear your online business journey please share in the comments.
